Creativity and Learning on the Marsh

Our workshops brings people together through practical learning opportunities, offered in central community locations.

We engage families at local primary schools, after school clubs & playgroups. Working with parents and carers living in isolated rural villages on Romney Marsh.

Romney Marsh is an area of deprivation, with poor transport links and low employment. We identify the needs of local people by trialling workshops at different times and days, in a variety of venues, offering a range of skills and techniques. We have had a great deal of enthusiasm for learning traditional skills and using local resources.

We found that the local churches are a popular venue, as they are in central village locations, facilities are good, with disabled access.

AiRM has worked with a diverse range of community groups since 2011. We are increasingly aware of the value of learning creative skills for well being and confidence.
